"Bucks begin the season with FA Cup test against the Scholars"
Match Date : October 3rd, 2020 3:00 pm
Competition : FA Cup
Ground : The Scholars Ground
Kick Off : 15:00
After an extra-long preseason, the Bucks begin the season with an Emirates FA Cup 2nd qualifying round tie away at Chasetown.
The Scholars kicked off their own campaign three weeks ago, and the Burntwood-based side have made bright start to the season. Currently sitting 4th in the Northern Premier League Division One South East, Chasetown have won four of their five games in all competitions so far, including chalking up wins against Kidsgrove Athletic and Basford United to progress in the FA Cup.
The Staffordshire side made a similarly positive start to last season, before a slump in form over the winter led to then-manager Scott Dundas leaving the club in February. Current boss, Mark Swann, was appointed shortly afterwards and oversaw an upturn in form before the season was cut short in March.
Forward Joey Butlin has bagged four goals in five games this season, while midfielder Jack Langston has registered two strikes and a trio of assists. Former Buck Danny O’Callaghan captains the Scholars, with another ex-Buck Kris Taylor featuring as a player/coach.
The Bucks bowed out of the FA Cup in this round of last year’s competition, going down 3-0 at home to Nantwich Town. But during the summer Gavin Cowan has strengthen in all areas of the pitch, and the Bucks have put in some promising preseason performances.
Unfortunately, no away fans can be admitted to the Scholars Ground on Saturday. But although you cannot attend the game in person, you can watch our live stream on Telford United TV, which will begin at around 2:55pm on matchday.
