"Bucks take on high-flying Harriers"

Match Date : November 13th, 2021 3:00 pm
Competition : National League North
Ground : Aggborough Stadium
Kick Off : 15:00

The Bucks make the short trip to Aggborough this Saturday to take on Kidderminster Harriers.

Kiddy are currently 9th on 18 points. But with at least one game in hand on all the clubs above them bar Curzon Ashton, Harriers look like they’ll be well and truly in the playoff picture this campaign.

Having spent a couple of seasons mired in middle table mediocrity, Kidderminster have been much improved since the permanent appointment of Russ Penn in April 2020. Harriers ended 5th in last year’s shortened campaign, and this term have impressed in both the league and cup – last weekend Kiddy beat Grimsby Town 1-0 to progress to the second round of the FA Cup.

The Kidderminster squad features former Bucks Amari Morgan-Smith and Sam Austin (the latter is currently Harriers top scorer with five goals), while Penn added experience in key areas with the summer arrivals of defender Nathan Cameron and midfield orchestrator Mark Carrington.

The Worcestershire club are unbeaten in their last five in all competitions, during which they’ve racked up four wins, three clean sheets (just two goals against) and 12 goals for. What’s more, tricky attacker Ashley Hemmings claimed the National League North’s Player of the Month award for October.

The Bucks, meanwhile, will be looking to improve an away record that currently reads one point from seven games. Aggborough has not been a happy hunting ground though, with AFC Telford United winless in seven visits to Kidderminster. But the Bucks did win when the sides last met – a 2-0 at the New Bucks Head to kick off the 2019/20 season.

The Bucks can now call upon dangerous young forward Ewan Bange, who arrived on loan from Blackpool this week. Bange has already bagged 10 goals in 18 games during a loan spell at Bamber Bridge this season. And with Jason Oswell chalking up three goals in five games, the Bucks will be hoping the new strike partnership can help deliver three points on Saturday.
