Women’s Development Management Appointment

AFC Telford United are delighted to announce the appointment of Lee Evans and Rich Wild as our new Women’s Development Management team. Both Lee and Rich come with extensive experience within youth football having previously been with Albrighton and Sporting Khalsa.

Lee spoke of his delight at being appointed the new development Manager “I am excited to embark on a new journey with the new Women’s Development team at AFC Telford Utd, a club with great ambitions and plans for the future which offers fantastic opportunities for the development of girls playing through to the Women’s first team.  Huge thanks to Luke and Sean for this opportunity. I’m looking forward to working with all the staff at Telford and also Rich Wild who will be partnering me with this team”.

On his appointment as Development Assistant Manager, Rich Wild said “I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to coach the Women’s Development Team for AFC Telford United. I can’t wait to get started and work with Lee and the team”

Both will work closely with Women’s First Team manager Sean Evans and the first team staff of Alex Owens and Mick Hill with an aim to develop and progress the Women’s and girls pathway at the football club.

“It’s a big step forward for the football club with the introduction of a Development squad, but also appointing Lee and Rich is a major positive”. Said Sean Evans, Women’s First Team Manager. “After our initial discussions it was clear we shared the same views and ideas on where we want the club and teams to go, so it was a no brainier. Both will work closely with myself and my staff to not only develop our youth players and bring them through to first team level, but to continually develop and improve the pathway in the club. We have some great potential in our youth setup and with the addition of this team it will give some of those first hand exposure of adult football. It’s been something I have been keen to implement so to get this done is brilliant. I’m delighted to have both Lee and Rich at the club and I look forward to working with them”.
