Update from the Club Board

With six league games to go, three at home and three away, we remain in line with the target we have stated in recent months of minimum play offs for season 2023/24. The manager Kevin Wilkin, his management team and the players deserve a lot of credit for the recent run of six wins, a draw and just one defeat in the last eight games. Going back further than that we have lost only 2 games out of the last 26 league games. We have prioritised on the field success this season and there has been considerable progress made in this respect, although there is certainly further work to do in our remaining games to hopefully confirm a place in the play offs.

The support we have received at home and away league games this season has been fantastic thank you all. Everyone present at our games this past few months will have seen a growing connection between the first team manager, his staff and players, supporters, directors, staff and volunteers. This is adding to a positive match day experience.

We would very much welcome as much support as possible at our remaining six games and this will hugely help the team push towards the play offs. Of course we look forward to seeing our fantastic regular supporters at these games, but additionally if you haven’t been to a game for a while please do come back if you are able to and new supporters who haven’t been to our games would be hugely welcome.

This isn’t just an appeal for increasing attendances at our remaining games, the current very positive feelings about the club are helping drive success off the field. Of course like all businesses we have been hit by increasing costs particularly utility costs, but we are working hard to mitigate this, the best example of this is our new deal on electricity prices saving us a five figure amount per annum. On income streams the month of March 2024 is looking like being an all time record month for us on commercial and other sponsorship deals, both renewals for 2024/25 and new deals, plus other partnership discussions that will continue into April. We will announce more in this respect over the coming weeks as soon as we can. Everything we are doing is part of early planning for the 2024/25 season.
