We are delighted that AFC Telford United U18s midfielder Billy West has signed with the first team after impressing manager Kevin Wilkin during pre-season.
West, who turns 18 in December, joined the football club in 2021 after several years in Shrewsbury Town’s academy. Billy played a pivotal role in our Under-16s side that won the Shropshire Youth Cup at the end of the 2021/22 season.
The midfielder was then promoted to our under-18s side where he played a key role in their successful treble winning 2022/23 campaign. Billy will captain the youth side in this season’s campaign whilst gaining valuable experience with the first team.
First team manager Kevin Wilkin has been impressed with the midfielder who made his senior team debut in the Bucks final pre-season friendly at home to Kidderminster Harriers.
Billy will be part of the first team squad that will travel to Leiston tomorrow afternoon.
