AFC Telford United would like to congratulate Wellington Pharmacy on the remarkable number of COVID Vaccinations they performed on their first day.
1,100 jabs were administered from 8am until 8pm on Tuesday 2nd February, however we aware that there was some teething problems.
Some patients turned up for appointments at the New Bucks Head and suffered long waits which was caused by the National booking system.
AFC Telford United would like thank everyone for their cooperation.
The situation was out of AFC Telford United and Wellington Pharmacy’s control, and it should be more manageable from today with numbers decreasing to 400 per day.
An NHS Midlands spokesman said: “We are sorry residents had to queue at AFC Telford vaccination site.
“Due to circumstances outside Wellington Pharmacy’s control, there were a lot of residents booked in yesterday.
“We anticipate today being more manageable with normal levels of vaccinations throughout the week.”
