One of our very own AFC Telford United Youth players is spending lockdown to keep fit ahead of the new season and helping to raise money to support the football club during this pandemic.
Charlie Preece from the U11s has been working hard during lockdown to improve his fitness for when football returns.
Charlie wanted a goal to work towards and approached his parents to ask if he could do a sponsored run to raise money for AFC Telford United to help them through this tough period.
On Saturday 20th June, Charlie is going to run from his home to the New Bucks Head on a 5 mile route.
Charlie’s family and friends as well as his team mates have all donated towards the Go Fund Page which has now reached just over £1,800.
The money raised will be used to enhance Gavin Cowan’s budget as he prepares to build a squad for the new season.
Football Operations Manager Luke Shelley “We were made aware over the weekend of Charlie’s fundraiser which has touched the heart of everyone connected to the club. Charlie is not only a very good goalkeeper who plays for our U11s side but he is a passionate Telford fan who has been attending games regularly with his family for many years now.
We were overwhelmed to hear of his fundraising idea to help raise money for the club during this period and we wish him all the very best with his run”
