AFC Telford United are delighted to announce the appointment of former Telford player Gavin Hurren as the new Foundation Manager.
Gavin enjoyed an impressive playing career where he experienced spells at Mansfield Town, Crawley, Kidderminster Harriers & Solihull Moors. He played under Rob Smith & Larry Chambers during the 2009/10 season while on loan from Tamworth.
The Bucks Foundation was registered as a CIC in February 2019 and engages with more than 10,000 participants each year across a variety of programmes and initiatives In the Borough of Telford & Wrekin.
In his new role at the foundation, Gavin will work closely with local schools and businesses to increase the number of people in the community engaging with programmes organised by the charity.
Luke Shelley, Football Operations Manager, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Gavin to the football club as the new Foundation Manager. With his unique experience in football and business, he is well placed to ensure the foundation continues to go from strength to strength over the next 12-18 months.
“Our goal for the next 12 months is to engage even more with local businesses and find out what they want to invest in and what they want to see more of in their community”
