The Bucks are excited to announce that striker Tré Mitford has signed for the club ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The 28 years old Guyana international joins the club following his release from Boston United and reunites him with Kevin Wilkin, who signed him for Brackley Town from Kettering Town in 2020.
Tré was born in Dover and represented Aylesbury United and Bedford Town before joining Kettering. His goals for the Poppies brought him to the attention of Brackley, and Tré spent two seasons at St. James Park before making the switch to Gloucester City.
Boston United acquired his services in January of this year, with Tré signing a deal for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
Asked about Tré, manager Kevin Wilkin had this to say:
“Tré has been working at Step 2 for a little while now and perhaps hasn’t quite established himself in the manner that he would have liked. Our hope is that at a slightly lesser level, slightly less competitive than it is at Step 2, that Tré would be able to flourish andscore the number of goals that I think he’s capable of.”
“In and around this level, the one thing players need to find is that consistency; that’s the big thing. On their day, yes, they’re capable of delivering, but it’s delivering on a regular basis that we need to see. If Tré can A lot of players find themselves at the level they do because they can’t deliver game on game, but hopefully again we can help help Tré to get in the groove, score some goals and and fire us forward.”
Welcome to the New Buck’s Head, Tré!
