A drive-through assessment centre is being set up at the New Bucks Head on Saturday 1st August for the community of Telford & Wrekin to receive Antibody COVID Testing by BioGrad Laboratories
Antibody tests are used to detect antibodies to the COVID-19 virus to see if you have previously had the virus. The test works by taking a finger blood sample and testing for the presence of antibodies to see if you have developed an immune response to the virus.
Antibody tests differ to virus swab (PCR) tests, which test to see if you currently have the virus.
The antibody test takes under two minutes to complete and give your sample, it takes a further 20 minutes for the results which you will receive via email (Results can take up to 2 hours at peak time).
The price of the antibody test are £39.99 including VAT.
A positive antibody test will tell you whether you’ve previously had the virus that causes COVID-19 and that your body has produced an immune response.
Testing will take place tomorrow afternoon Saturday 1st August between 12noon – 6pm
