Club Statement: Phil Trainer

AFC Telford United would like to update supporters on the current situation with assistant manager Phil Trainer.

Phil is currently taking a break from football to concentrate on his personal life away from the club.

Boss Gavin Cowan “Phil hasn’t been with us for sometime now as he is having to deal with things in his personal life. We haven’t wanted to mention anything until now as the door is still open for Phil to return.

That being said, he’s still not ready as of yet so it’s agreed we will focus on the here and now until Phil feels the time is right. Football is a huge part of our lives but Phil is my friend first and foremost so I will give him any time he needs and also continue to support him away from work. I hope everyone can respect Phil’s privacy and continue to support the team the best they can during these times.”
