Bucks Bulletin: 27th March 2024

Forthcoming Matches

HOME

We have only three scheduled home fixtures left, so if you know someone who has been promising to get along to a Bucks game sometime soon, now’s the time!

All three fixtures will have a bearing on whether we can reach our playoff goal, so we’d love to see as many spectators as possible for our remaining matches.

Our next home fixture is on Good Friday, 29th March 2024, when we will host Redditch United in a key end-of-season fixture; it’s a game that is sure to have playoff implications for both teams.

Segregation will be in place for this fixture, with away fans accommodated in the Frank Nagington Stand and the block of seating closest to the away end.

Following that game, we will be on home turf again on 6th April 2024, when Leamington FC will provide our opposition in another potentially pivotal match.

We will have a special guest in hospitality for the game, Jon Adams, a player who represented both clubs with distinction and who also played for Kevin Wilkin at Nuneaton.

We are thrilled that Jon has accepted our invitation to join us and hope you will enjoy the opportunity to spend time with another Bucks hero of the recent past.

Our final home match of the regular season will be against Berkhamsted FC on 20th April 2024.

Injury Updates

Nathan Fox remains our only significant injury absentee; however, Nathan has resumed some running. Those fans who travelled to Alvechurch and Hitchin may have spotted him in the warm-ups.

It’s a positive sign for Nathan, who sends his thanks to everyone who has enquired about him. He’ll continue to work his way back to fitness with help from the club’s medical staff.

We will assess Sam Whittall and Ricardo Dinanga ahead of this weekend’s fixture with Redditch United.

Harvey Solley also returned to training with the first team on Tuesday evening (26th March).

Match Day Experience Survey

The Match Day Experience Survey remains open until Thursday 28th March 2024.

Feedback from all match-going supporters is welcome, and you can find the survey by clicking on the link below:

Crowd Behaviour

Although we have communicated this request previously, we wish to remind those attending games about the use of flares and pyrotechnics.

Regardless of your feelings on pyrotechnics, their use inside football grounds is illegal, as this explainer from the Football Supporters Association makes clear:

https://thefsa.org.uk/news/are-pyro-and-pitch-invasions-legal/

Our message? Bring your passion, not your pyro.

Punishments for the use of pyrotechnics may apply to individuals where they are identifiable, but sanctions can and will apply to us as a football club.

We know that most of our fans will respond to this positively, but should any individuals choose to continue using pyro, we urge others not to respond to their actions with inaction.

If you witness behaviour that you know or you feel to be unacceptable or in breach of the law, please report it – you could be saving the club from further sanctions.

Punishments diminish both our reputation and our competitiveness, as any fines imposed affect the club’s finances and therefore what monies might be available to Kevin in terms of his playing budget.

Our dedicated text number for reports of such incidents on home match days is 07572-236037, and as a handy hint, if you save it in your phone now, you won’t forget it.

If you feel safe and confident enough to do so, a quicker way is to report the incident to our match-day stewards.

England Expects

Don’t forget that next week (4th April 2024), the New Buck’s Head will play host to the young Lionesses.

The England Under 23 Women’s team will face their counterparts from Sweden, with kick-off scheduled for 6 pm.

We have already seen tremendous interest in the game, with close to 700 tickets sold and still over a week to go until the match.

We are hugely proud to have been selected to host the game, which reflects well on the club. The investment made into the playing surface in the last few years, with help from the Football Foundation, means we have a pitch fit not just for the Bucks and Wolves but for the Lionesses, too.

It is also a positive reflection of the hard work of groundsman Tony Parton; with three games of the season remaining, our pitch is the envy of many clubs – thank you, Tony!

Tickets for the Lionesses are still available via our TicketCo link >>> https://afctelfordunited.ticketco.events/uk/nb/e/england_wu23s_v_sweden_wu23s

We encourage all those wishing to attend to purchase in advance via TicketCo to help minimise queues on the evening of the game.

Our Young Lion

Although a few miles and 24 hours apart, Archie Elsdon from the Bucks’ Under 18 side should once again be representing the English Schools FA side on Thursday, 28th March 2024, when they face Wales at Briton Ferry FC.

On Friday, 5th April 2024, the ESFA side will face the Republic of Ireland at Bescot, the home of Walsall FC.

Kick-off is at 7 pm, and tickets are available, although the game will also be live-streamed online.

Both matches are part of the Centenary Shield tournament.

Jacob Egg-cels with Eggshells

With Easter almost upon us, some of you may be taking part in the tradition of decorating or painting eggs, and Bucks fan Jacob Broadhurst has egg-celled himself with his efforts.

Jacob plays for Randlay Colts under-10s, and one of his four decorated eggs for a school competition may be familiar.

We almost cracked up when we saw Jacob’s Easter tribute to our Montel Gibson, who described it simply as “Class”.

If anyone else has or fancies decorating an egg as a tribute to the Bucks, please share them with us, and we’ll put them into a special albumen, sorry, album… (we’ve egg on our face for that one).
