"Bucks thirsty for success at The Brewery Field"

Match Date : February 29th, 2020 3:00 pm
Competition : National League North
Ground :
Kick Off : 15:00

The Bucks head to the North East this Saturday to take on playoff-chasing Spennymoor Town. …..

The Moors have the division’s second-best home record having racked up 35 points and 38 goals in 16 league games at The Brewery Field. But the Bucks are yet to lose in eight games against the County Durham club – winnng four and drawing one of the five league fixtures between to two sides in recent years.

That draw came earlier this campaign at the New Bucks Head when the teams drew 2-2. Jason Ainsley’s Moors raced into an earlier two-goal lead before the Bucks bagged a goal either side of half time to claim a spare of the spoils. Last season, meanwhile, Cowan’s men ran out winners on two trips to The Brewery Field – a 3-2 success in the league and 2-1 triumph in the FA Trophy.

Despite being perennial promotion hopefuls, Spennymoor made a slow start to the current campaign, picking up just two points from their opening five games. But Ainsley’s side soon turned that around and now sit 8th in the table having won four of their last five league games. And in Glen Taylor, the Moors’ boast one of the most dangerous forwards at this level. Taylor was the division’s top scorer last season – the only player to score more league goals the Daniel Udoh – and the powerful forward has notched another 21 goals across all competitions so far this campaign.

The Bucks are looking to return to winning ways after defeat at Boston last time out, and three points this weekend would the perfect platform for a strong finish to the season.
