"Bucks and Bulls lock horns at Edgar Street"
Match Date : August 13th, 2019 7:45 pm
Competition : National League North
Kick Off : 19:45
The Bucks lock horns with the Bulls on Tuesday night at Edgar Street.
After reforming as Hereford FC at the end of 2014, the Bulls won three successive league titles as they swiftly climbed back up the pyramid. But after a bright start last season, Hereford found themselves struggling at the wrong end of the table – eventually finishing in 17th place.
Current boss Marc Richards took the reigns at Edgar Street last September. And after securing safety last season, Richards has spent the summer building a squad that looks capable of challenging for promotion. Recent signings include the dangerous front three of Reece Styche, Rowan Liburd and Jordan Nicholson, experienced defenders Jared Hodgkiss and Martin Riley, and all-action midfielder Jagger Cane.
The Bulls were among the league’s draw specialists last season – only Guiseley drew more – and drew both games against the Bucks 1-1. Their season opener at home to Spennymoor Town also ended a stalemate – the sides playing out a 2-2 draw. A win over Gloucester City and defeat at Kings Lynn Town have followed.
The Bucks haven’t beaten the Bulls in three encounters since Hereford reformed; in addition to last season’s draws, the Bulls won an FA Cup clash at Edgar Street in November 2017. But the Bucks have kept back to back clean sheets, and Gavin Cowan will no doubt be looking to improve Telford’s record against the Bulls.
