"Park Avenue could be Bucks' fourth success"

Competition : National League North
Ground : New Bucks Head
Kick Off : 19:45
Telford take on Bradford Park Avenue at the New Bucks Head on Tuesday night.
Having been spared relegation during the 2019/20 campaign that was cut short by Covid, Bradford haven’t been too far from the drop zone ever since. Avenue finished last season in 18th, two places above the Bucks, while a run of only one win in the 14 games since the sides met three months ago sees Avenue currently sit in 23rd spot.
Both sides are currently on torrid runs of form – Avenue are five without a win, while the Bucks are winless in 11. Kevin Wilkin’s men have, in fact, picked up more points than their West Yorkshire opponents since Bradford beat the Bucks 1-0 at the Horsfall Stadium at the start of December (11 and nine respectively), albeit the Bucks have played one game more in that time.
Mark Bower is the man in the Horsfall hotseat. Having previously led Avenue to the playoffs, Bower briefly left the club before returning in September 2019. But, as outlined, Bower’s second spell in charge hasn’t brought as much success. And recent struggles have not been helped by an injury crisis that left Bradford having to field three academy players against Scarborough last week.
Avenue’s squad includes former Telford captain Luca Havern, while dangerous winger Brad Dockerty made a swift return to the Horsfall Stadium in September having left to join Alfreton Town in July.
Despite a successive defeats at the Horsfall Stadium, the Bucks otherwise have a good recent record against Avenue winning the other four of the six most recent games between the sides. Among those wins is last season’s 3-0 success at the New Bucks Head. The Bucks will be aiming for a repeat of that result this Tuesday.
