"Bucks looking for first away win this season at Avenue"

The Bucks will travel to West Yorkshire this weekend to take on Bradford Park Avenue.

Bradford were lucky to escape relegation during the 2019/20 campaign having been 13 points adrift of safety before Covid cut the season short. But with Mark Bower – who previously led them to the playoffs – back in the Horsfall hotseat, Avenue seemed to be taking steps along the road to recovery last season.

Bower’s side have made a slow start to the new campaign, however, picking up nine points from 11 games – the same record as the Bucks, but Bradford sit one place lower on goal difference.

Avenue’s squad includes former Telford captain Luca Havern, while young forward Luke Rawson, a summer arrival from Chesterfield, is Bradford’s leading scorer with three goals.

Dennis Greene’s men are unbeaten in three but are yet to win away from home this season. However, the Bucks have won on each of their last three visits to the Horsfall Stadium, including last season’s 2-1 victory which came courtesy of two goals from Dom McHale.
