"The Bucks take on title-chasing Fylde this Saturday"
Match Date : February 11th, 2023 3:00 pm
Competition : National League North
Ground : New Bucks Head
Kick Off : 15:00
The Bucks face will face both of the top two over the next four days, starting with AFC Fylde’s visit to the New Bucks Head this Saturday.
Perennial favourites, Fylde began the campaign with five wins from seven, but their form stuttered following the departure of boss James Rowe, who resigned after being charged with sexual assault. The Coasters won only four of their 11 games in all competitions during the period that they were without a permanent manager, but their form notably improved after the appointment of former Mansfield Town man Adam Murray in November.
The Coasters have won ten of Murray’s 14 games in charge in all competitions, picking up an impressive 28 points from 33 in the league. And that run has seen the Lancashire club climb back up to the top of the table, although the Coasters currently 2nd behind King’s Lynn Town on goal difference – albeit with a game in hand on the Linnets.
Murray has made few additions to his squad, but notably has added former Bucks loanee Mo Faal to his attacking options. The West Brom younster has bagged seven goals in ten outings for Fylde. The Coasters can also call on, perhaps, the division’s most dangerous player in Nick Haughton. The attacking midfielder bagged 26 goals last season and is the league’s joint top scorer this time around with 15 so far. Club record signing, Luke Charman, is also likely to feature after returning from injury.
Fylde have won on each of their last four visits to the New Bucks Head, but Kevin Wilkin’s men are currently unbeaten in six on home soil. And after a string of home draws, the Bucks will be looking to nab all three points this weekend.
