We are thrilled to announce that Matty Stenson has won the Enterprise National League North Player of the Month award for December.
The award caps a memorable month for Matty, both individually and as part of a collective Bucks effort.
He contributed five goals in December as the Bucks compiled an eventual nine-match unbeaten run, lifting us up the division and into the fourth round of the FA Trophy.
As well as his impact on the team, Matty has reached several personal milestones, making his 100th appearance for the club and also surpassing Andy Brown’s club record of 56 goals. Matty now has 60 goals in a Bucks shirt, the most by any player since our reformation in 2004.
Matty was nominated along with three other candidates, all of whom had outstanding months for their clubs, underlining Matty’s achievement in being recognised. They were:
- Michael Afuye (Radcliffe)
- Reece Devine (Kidderminster Harriers)
- Paul Blackett (South Shields)
The selection panel for December consisted of DAZN pundit/analyst Aaron Mclean, Matt Badcock, the editor of the Non-League Paper, and the National League’s Tom Scott.
Matty will receive a trophy in recognition of his efforts.
In the Manager of the Month category, Bucks manager Kevin Wilkin was pipped to the award for December; however, we’re proud that Kevin was nominated in recognition of the Bucks’ excellent recent form, and we’re sure that it’s not the last time Kevin will be involved in such conversations.
Well done to both of you on your nominations, and once again, well done to Matty for showing the division what we’ve long believed.
