We have disappointing news about our defender, Orrin Pendley, who is sadly facing an extended spell on the sidelines.
Orrin hasn’t featured for the Bucks since an injury incurred in the Emirates FA Cup tie with Evesham United in September. Unfortunately, a setback in his recovery meant Orrin being sent for a scan on his injured ankle. Orrin has yet to see a specialist, but all the indications are that Orrin’s injury is not healing sufficiently to enable him to train and play.
Although a course of action has yet to be decided, with Orrin’s welfare central to the discussion, one of the options is surgery, which would likely rule Orrin out for the rest of the season.
Bucks’ manager Kevin Wilkin, reflecting on the situation, said:
“Obviously, our first thoughts are for Orrin. He’s a big character and has been a big performer for us, and his experience at the level at which we find ourselves is invaluable, so to lose him hurts us, but hurts him too. Orrin was making good progress, but then had a setback, and it became clear we needed to have him reassessed. His scan results don’t look great, and we’re readying ourselves for being without him for a good while longer.”
We’ll update supporters as the picture becomes clearer, but on behalf of Orrin, we’d like to thank all those who have been asking for news of his return. Alas, it’s not the news that anyone wanted, least of all Orrin himself, and we’re sure you’ll send him your best wishes for the best possible recovery.
