We can confirm that we have mutually agreed with Luke Rowe to terminate his contract with the club.
Following discussions with manager Kevin Wilkin, Luke expressed his wish to leave, and out of respect for Luke and his contribution to the club, we have reluctantly agreed.
We are sorry to see Luke depart the SEAH Stadium. He returned for a second spell with the Bucks in spring 2025, and his galvanising effect helped to create the platform for our eventual promotion via the playoffs.
An unbeaten sequence of eighteen matches culminated in our 4-2 victory at Kettering Town, with Luke lifting the playoff trophy and etching himself into the club’s history, as well as creating countless memories with his colleagues and for the club’s supporters.
Speaking about the decision, Kevin Wilkin said:
“For my part, I’m disappointed to lose him. Luke came in and had a fantastic effect last season, and, obviously, he’s been frustrated by the lack of game time this season. I’ve gone with the lads that have been there, and I think they’ve been really consistent, and from a football perspective, I’m comfortable with the decision.”
“You want a strong squad, and Luke would have been part of what I think is a strong squad. I’m disappointed, and I’ve loved working with him. It’s unfortunate, but these things happen, and we have to move on, and of course, we wish him well.”
We would like to endorse Kevin’s words and likewise wish Luke all the very best for the future.
Go well, Rowey, and thank you.
