We are excited to announce the return of Ricardo Dinanga on a long-term loan deal from Shrewsbury Town.
Ricardo returns to the club, having joined Shrewsbury in January 2025 for an undisclosed fee, and will enhance the Bucks’ attacking options.
Ricky joined the club as a free agent in the summer of 2023, following his release from EFL Championship side Coventry City. He enjoyed a good first season, but it was his sparkling early-season form in 2024/25 that brought Ricardo to the attention of several clubs, with the lure of a return to full-time football proving too much for the Bucks to compete with.
Ricardo was our leading scorer at the point of his departure, a role taken up with relish by Matty Stenson, and Bucks fans can now anticipate seeing them linking up once more.
Manager Kevin Wilkin had been monitoring Ricardo’s situation at the Croud Meadow, where his first-team opportunities have been limited, partially by injury.
Although a deal appeared to move further away following the departure of Mickey Moore, Town’s former director of football and a man Kevin knows well, Shrewsbury indicated their willingness to allow Ricardo to return, prompting Kevin to make his move.
Kevin was delighted to seal Ricky’s return, stating:
“We know what Ricardo is capable of, and it was adding consistency to his game that meant Shrewsbury wanted to take him. We couldn’t offer him full-time football, but what we are able to offer him is the opportunity to play regularly. We’re at a higher level now, so hopefully Ricky can show that same consistency at Step 2 and help us to be really competitive.”
Welcome back, Ricky – we’re glad you didn’t lose that number!
