They’re here!
The fixtures for the forthcoming season in the Enterprise National League North were published at 1 pm on Wednesday, 9th July 2025, and with the Bucks returning to Step 2 football, it’s a day we know many of you will have been counting down to.
Here’s our summary:
First Game
The Bucks’ season begins on Saturday, 9th August, with a road trip, and it’s one of the longer ones, away to King’s Lynn Town. The Linnets have installed a new manager since the end of last season, with former Gloucester City, Chesterfield and AFC Fylde boss James Rowe now in charge at The Walks.
First Home Game
Our first home league fixture is one week later, with Curzon Ashton visiting the SEAH Stadium on Saturday, 16th August.
August Bank Holiday
The August Bank Holiday brings home and away fixtures against Buxton and Darlington, with the trip to Blackwell Meadows on Monday, 25th August ticking off another one of the lengthier journeys.
Emirates FA Cup
Our Emirates FA Cup campaign will begin on Saturday, 13th September, with a blank Saturday in the fixture calendar two weeks later set aside for the third qualifying round.
Isuzu FA Trophy
The Bucks start on the potential road to Wembley on Saturday, 15th November, which is why this date is currently blank in the schedule. In anticipation of our progress, there’s also a blank date on Saturday, 13th December – watch out for that one, and don’t assume it’s a Christmas shopping day!
Christmas and New Year
The Christmas and New Year programme is always something supporters eagerly look forward to, and Chester will visit the SEAH Stadium on Boxing Day (Friday, 26th December).
Between Christmas and New Year, we will make the shortest away trip of the season, away to Kidderminster Harriers on Tuesday, 30th December. There are no New Year’s Day fixtures scheduled, so our first game of 2026 will be the trip to Spennymoor Town’s Brewery Field on Saturday, 3rd January.
Longest Journey
Our longest haul of the campaign comes on Saturday, 21st February, away to South Shields.
Easter
The Easter weekend fixtures send us to Chester on Good Friday, 3rd April, for the reverse of the Boxing Day fixture, followed by the visit of Kidderminster Harriers on Easter Monday, 6th April.
Final Day
We will end the season as we started it, on the road, with a trip to Southport on the season’s final day. Saturday, 25th April.
Midweek Games
With the Enterprise National League North having twenty-four teams, the season is forty-six games long; inevitably, this means more midweek fixtures have been scheduled.
Our first midweek fixture sees us face an adversary from last season, Bedford Town, with the Southern League Premier Central champions and playoff winners in opposition on Tuesday, 19th August.
Two weeks later, Peterborough Sports travels to Telford on Tuesday, 2nd September.
We travel to Hereford on Tuesday, 21st October, before hosting Merthyr Town on Tuesday, 4th November. Oxford City travels to the SEAH Stadium on Tuesday, 25th November, with the return fixture against Merthyr Town also in midweek, on Tuesday, 27th January.
Hereford comes to the SEAH Stadium on Tuesday, 10th February, and the Bucks go to Oxford City later that month, on Tuesday, 24th February.
March brings our final midweek away fixture, a visit to the Lancashire coast to face AFC Fylde on Tuesday, 10th March.
Of course, postponements or the progress of the Bucks or our prospective opponents in the Emirates FA Cup or the Isuzu FA Trophy may result in more fixtures being rescheduled to midweek dates.
Firsts and Landmarks
Club statistician Maurice Barker has confirmed that the Bucks have faced twenty of the twenty-three other teams in the division as AFC Telford United, i.e. since 2004. The three teams we have yet to face in a competitive fixture are:
Macclesfield
A sole pre-season fixture in 2023/24 remains the only time we have encountered the ‘new’ Macc, although Wellington Town / Telford United and Macclesfield Town faced each other many times. Our scheduled visit to Cheshire on Saturday, 8th November, will be one for the history books.
Merthyr Town
Both of our meetings with the Martyrs are scheduled for midweek, with the 4th November game at the SEAH Stadium set to be the first time we have met, although Telford United did face Merthyr Tydfil in seasons past.
South Shields
Although Telford United has faced South Shields in the FA Trophy, there has never been a league meeting between the teams, and there’s no meeting between us in the ‘AFC era’ – Saturday, 22nd November will change that, with Shields due at the SEAH Stadium.
Venue Change
If you’re eyeing our trip to Scarborough Athletic on Saturday, 14th March, for a weekend away, beware! Ongoing issues with the pitch refurbishment at Scarborough mean that they’ll be playing their home games in Bridlington for the 2025/26 season.
Quick Facts
259 days – the length of the league season (excluding playoffs).
4,890 miles – the distance we’re projected to cover in making the twenty-three round trips to fulfil our league fixtures.
30 miles – our shortest away day, to Kidderminster.
216 miles – our longest away trip, to South Shields.
204 miles – the average distance for each of our away matches, there and back.
