Youth Round Up
Saturday 17th October
It was the final weekend of action before the half term break and we start our round up with the Under 12 Boys who have been in fine form so far this season sitting top of their league. They welcomed Anstey Nomads in a top of the table clash and found themselves a goal down at the break with it all to do. However a brace from Isaac Bateson and one from Oliver Beckett saw them run out 3-2 winners. Meanwhile, a goal from James Heller wasn’t enough to stop the Under 11 Boys falling to a first defeat of the season away at Hawkins Sports.
Two goals from Caitlin McCoole weren’t quite enough to give the Under 12 Girls the win against Hillfield AFC. Our Under 13 Boys put in an impressive performance to pick up the 3 points on the road at previously unbeaten Walsall Phoenix. Goals from Logan Whittaker, Nat Robinson and Bayley Bateman gave them a 3-1 victory.
Our Under 15 Boys made it back to back wins with a 9-1 victory on the road at Dudley Town Youth. Hayden Norry grabbed his first goals for the club with a hat trick, Carrick Baker (2), Jamie Bishop, Ollie Corbett, Ryan Jones and the retuning Preston Whinnerah also on the scoresheet. It wasn’t such good fortune for the Under 16 Boys as a Brian Castle goal wasn’t enough to stop them falling to a 4-1 defeat away at Rugby Borough.
We end our round up with our two Under 18 sides. Our Girls side were edged out 2-1 away at Boldmere St Michaels; Lauren McCaffrey with the Bucks goal. Meanwhile the Boys put in an emphatic performance to beat Borrowash Victoria 5-0. Ethan Pickford led the way with a brace with further goals coming from Jacob Gwilt, Jack Humphries and Kian Garrett.

A brace from George Hollis-Terry saw the Under 11 Boys return to winning ways against Racing Club Warwick whilst the Under 11 Girls were winners against Worthen with goals coming from Jasmine Millis, Codie-Lee Jones and Imogen Frost. Meanwhile goals from Charlie Lavelle and Chloe Furnival weren’t enough to stop the Under 16 Girls slipping to a defeat against Leicester City Foxes.
Our Under 12 Boys were rewarded for their long trip to Mansfield with 3 points making it 5 wins on the bounce. They again had to come from a goal down at the break but ran out 3-1 winners thanks to Isaac Bateson, William Clarke and George Preece.
The Under 18 Girls faced a huge battle against a strong Leicester City Girls side with just 10 players. They put in an excellent performance with Lauren McCaffrey netting 4 goals, however they were edged out 5-4. The Under 18 Boys made it back to back clean sheets and 4 wins on the bounce with a 4-0 win over Carl Baker Academy. Goals came from Dan Gormley, Kian Garbett, Jack Humphries and Sam O’Brien.
We end our round up with the Under 15 Boys who were looking to make it 3 wins on the bounce and climb up the league table against Diamond Academy. After edging the first half 2-1 they settled the game in the second half with another 4 goals, taking the 3 points. Preston Whinnerah grabbed his first hat trick since returning to the club with Jack Lucas grabbing a brace and Ollie Corbett settling the scoring.
