Entering his seventh season at the club, Zak is the Bucks longest serving player, having signed for club in July 2015 under manager Steve Kittrick.
Zak, a former Thomas Telford School pupil, was part of the West Bromwich Albion academy before signing for the Bucks.
He gained some first-team experience in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons under Rob Smith and Larry Chambers; however, there were also spells out on loan to gain experience, with Zak featuring for Sutton Coldfield Town, Leamington, Rushall Olympic, Tamworth and Stourbridge.
Gavin Cowan’s arrival as manager in 2018 saw Zak converted from a striker to a central defender, and in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons he began to see more first-team action. He deputised for injured captain Shane Sutton in autumn 2019 and scored his first goal for the club in a 4-0 away victory at Guiseley in the FA Trophy.
Zak’s maturity into a regular name on the teamsheet made his return for the 2021/22 season a welcome sight for Bucks fans.
