Ellis Deeney

Date of birth: 19 October 1991

Biography

Experienced central midfielder Ellis joined the Bucks in January 2018, signing from National League North rivals Tamworth for an undisclosed fee. He began his professional career at Aston Villa, captaining their academy side and reaching the FA Youth Cup final in 2010, losing to Chelsea. After being released by Villa, he spent time at Kettering Town and Hinckley United before signing for Worcester City. He eventually became club captain and won the club’s Player of the Year award during his four seasons with them before signing for Tamworth in January 2015. He is the younger brother of Troy Deeney, the Watford FC striker. His initial 18-month deal means Ellis remains at the club for 2018/19.
