A graduate of the Everton FC academy, which he joined aged just 11, Ellesemere-based Arlen progressed to the Toffees’ title-winning under 18 side and, despite being born in Wrexham, he gained representative honours for England at under 16 and under 18 level.
He left Merseyside for Burnley in September 2015 but couldn’t break into the Turf Moor side’s first team squad and in August 2018 he signed for National League side AFC Fylde on a one year agreement. Arlen made 26 appearances for the Coasters, culminating in his collecting an FA Trophy winners medal at Wembley in May 2019 as Fylde defeated Leyton Orient 1-0.
The Coasters opted not to offer Arlen a deal for 2019/20, and he signed with the Bucks as a free agent in October 2019 on an initial three-month deal.
