We are excited to announce the appointment of Ben Sohier as the new Head Coach of our Under 18s side for the 2021/22 season.
Ben is a familiar face to our Youth Setup, having worked with last season’s U15 Boys for 7 seasons. He also is a Sports Tutor on our BTEC Programme. Ben provides a wealth of coaching experience and capability and will continue to build the club’s playing philosophy across the youth setup, drawing upon his experience coaching in America, graduating university with a Sports Coaching degree, and his journey to becoming a UEFA B qualified coach.
Ben is ably assisted by brother Ryan Sohier who also moves up from the Under 15s, and Patrick Fletcher who stays on for his third season at the club and the Under 18s.
Speaking to Ben, he outlined his ambition and delight at being appointed Head Coach: “Firstly I would like to thank the board and Luke Shelley, Football Operations Manager for granting me this incredible opportunity.
The club has shown great faith in myself, Ryan and Patrick to appoint us in this role, and we will strive to repay that faith in every aspect. Telford is a talent rich area for young footballers, and we want to help develop these boys and give them the best possible platform, to get closer to that dream of representing the club at first team level. We have a talented and highly motivated squad of young local players ready to make their club and hometown proud. I cannot wait for the season to get started”.
