This is a Prostate Screening Awareness event that is open to all men aged over 40 who would like to have their risK of prostate cancer assessed.
This is by way of a pain free blood test.
Did you know that in the UK, about 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime?
What causes prostate cancer isn’t known, but amongst the risk factors which mean you are more likely to get it are things such as:
- getting older – it mainly affects men aged 50 or over
- having a family history of prostate cancer
- being black.
Early diagnosis will improve your chances of a better outcome.
