Piggo’s back, and that’s worth singing about.
We are delighted to confirm that Jordan Piggott has agreed terms to return to the Bucks for the 2025/26 season.
‘Piggo’ is our longest-serving player; he reached a century of appearances for the Bucks last season and is now closing in on one hundred and fifty appearances for the club since signing for us, initially on loan, in January 2022.
Jordan was the joint recipient of manager Kevin Wilkin’s ‘Manager’s Player of the Season’ award, in recognition of his tireless consistency and his willingness to play wherever he’s asked. Piggo also weighs in with a goal now and again, and surely won’t score a goal any more important in his Bucks career than the equaliser he tucked away in our playoff final victory at Kettering Town.
All of those qualities made bringing ‘Mr Telford’ back to the SEAH Stadium a priority, and Kevin was pleased that Jordan’s enthusiasm to sign on the dotted line matched Kevin’s eagerness to get the paperwork completed.
“We have some really good lads in our dressing room, none more so than Jordan. His versatility gives us options, and his attitude is first class; wherever we’ve asked him to play, he’s stepped up and given his all for the team. He’s a good character with strong attributes; he’s got a happy-go-lucky way about him and enjoys his football, but takes it seriously and wants to win, and you can see the supporters really appreciate him and what he brings. I know he’s excited and up for the challenge at a higher level, and I’m delighted to have him with us.”
Jordan was equally pleased to get things sorted, although he admitted that he had no real interest in playing anywhere else.
“It’ll be my fourth season, and I’ve loved my time here, which made it an easy decision to stay. The love I get from the fans here is something I’ve never had before, and I just can’t wait to get back out there and have a real good go this season.”
Jordan is our eighth confirmed player for our forthcoming return to the National League North, which kicks off on 9th August.
Look out for more announcements from us over the coming weeks as the countdown brings us closer to opening day.
PS You didn’t think he’d go anywhere else, did you?
