From South America via Staffordshire, Oliver Cawthorne is the latest player to commit to the Bucks for the 2025/26 season.
The central defender was a deadline day addition by Kevin Wilkin, but quickly gained the manager’s confidence following his debut at Banbury United in mid-April.
Oliver played in both our playoff semi-final and final victories and will seek to build on the promise shown in those performances as the Bucks return to the National League North.
Bucks supporters quickly warmed to the 23-year-old, whose football education was gained in Venezuela and Panama, and it’s evident that the passion shown by Bucks fans has had a big impact on Oliver.
“Telford already feels like home to me, and my aim is to keep on achieving things with this great club.”
Kevin Wilkin was pleased to bring Oliver back and feels he is a player who can grow and develop with the team.
“Oliver arrived quite late in the day, but from what we saw of him in training, it quickly made us think there was a player in there, without a doubt. He’s got some good experience already from playing in South America, and although I think the game here and at our level is a bit more physical, he hasn’t shied away from that. He’s not the finished article, but I think we can help him develop his game, and he can help to develop us at the same time, so I’m looking forward to more opportunities to work with Oliver.”
Oliver becomes the seventh player confirmed as part of the Bucks squad for our return to Step 2 football on 9th August, less than nine weeks away.
