Home, James

We are excited to announce the return of midfielder Jimmy Armson for a second season with the Bucks.

Jimmy has agreed to terms to remain at the SEAH Stadium, having contributed ten goals, but a lot more besides, to our successful bid to regain a place at Step 2.

Jimmy’s extensive experience at a higher level should prove invaluable to our aim of prospering in the Enterprise National League North.

Once Jimmy had settled into his new surroundings, supporters saw just why manager Kevin Wilkin had been keen to tempt him away from Brackley Town in the summer of 2024. As player and manager, the pair had given Brackley some of the biggest days in the club’s history, and they combined to repeat the feat with Telford, gaining promotion by winning the playoffs.

His knack for finding the net earned plenty of vital points during the season, but Jimmy’s calmness in the heat of big contests also more than proved his worth. Although an injury cut short Jimmy’s contribution in the final itself, he reports that his injury has healed. With plenty of running completed, he’s set for a return to pre-season training when he and the rest of the Bucks get together on July 1st.

Kevin Wilkin, refreshed after a week’s holiday, wasted no time upon his return in crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s with Jimmy on a deal for the 2025/26 season. The Bucks’ boss was pleased to be continuing his working relationship with him.

“I’ve probably worked with Jimmy for more seasons than I haven’t now, which tells its own story, doesn’t it? I’ve been fortunate to have managed him when he was probably in his prime, and although he’s thirty-five now, he’s still got a lot to offer. He had to make a few adjustments last season, and we had to manage him a little bit when returning from injury, but he played a big role for us and I’ve no doubt he will do the same again.”

Jimmy’s return brings Kevin’s squad-building to a baker’s dozen of thirteen, with more activity expected in the coming days.

Follow the Bucks on social media, so that when we announce further deals, you’ll be among the first to know, and much more besides, as the countdown to our return to the North continues.

Welcome back, Jimmy!
