FLOOD UPDATE: Friday

It’s around 24 hours since the deluge landed on the SEAH Stadium and left us underwater.

From being overwhelmed with water, we have been overwhelmed again today, this time by kindness.

There remains much to do, and we have so many people to thank that doing so will take some time.

Here is an update to the situation inside the ground:

At the end of Friday, a small army of staff and volunteers had pumped or swept most of the water that had entered the SEAH Stadium.

We now have to wait for things to dry out over the weekend, so it is likely that if we request physical help once more, it will be to help us mop the floors clean, etc.

Working out what has been damaged by water ingress and will need replacing or repairing will be another task for early next week, but again, we have received offers of assistance that have left us very humble.

If we have not answered any individual requests offering help or requesting information, we can only offer our apologies. It truly has been a case of ‘all hands to the pumps’ today, and people should be in no doubt that the continued clean-up will go on for some time.

The Wolves Women’s team’s fixture scheduled for Sunday (29th) will now go ahead at Compton.

Thank you again to everyone who has offered and given their time and effort to help us get back on our feet. We also appreciate the many messages of support we have received and also the media coverage; we would much rather have received this for our achievements on the pitch, but we are in no doubt that the widespread coverage helped to generate many of the offers of assistance we have received.
