IMPORTANT UPDATE
Biggleswade Postponement
As you may have seen, Biggleswade Town has progressed to the fourth round of the Isuzu FA Trophy, and we congratulate them; however, the Waders’ success impacts the Bucks.
Our scheduled home fixture with Biggleswade, initially set for 4th January 2025, will now be postponed to allow them to play their fourth-round tie with Oxford City. With no other teams from the Southern League Premier Central having reached this competition stage, we have no available opponents on that day.
A new date for the Biggleswade fixture will be arranged in due course, along with a rearranged date for our fixture at Royston Town, which was postponed by bad weather on 7th December 2024.
League rules state that fixtures should be rescheduled within forty-two days of the original fixture date. As such, these games will likely take place in January and February.
We’ll post details on our website and social media once the dates have been rearranged and agreed upon.
OK, after that disappointing but necessary start to this bulletin, let’s talk about some fixtures that are taking place…

Treatment Room
The postponement of our fixture with Royston Town did contain a positive; it gave additional recovery time to Ellis Myles and Steffan Jones, who have been absent due to injuries.
Ellis is making good progress; however, a scan of Steff’s foot problem proved inconclusive, so it is likely that a further scan will be arranged.
Supporters Association
TUSA has arranged an away fixture!
Our Supporters’ Association’s next monthly meeting is on Monday, 16th December 2024. They’re taking it on the road and being hosted by our good friends at The Boot Micropub in Market Square, Wellington.
As always, there’s an open invitation for anyone interested in helping TUSA or even just to understand how you might be able to help. There’s no obligation; at minimum, you can enjoy a cheeky pint in welcoming surroundings.
With Christmas only two weeks away, don’t forget that the TUSA Annual Christmas raffle will be held. The draw will be made at our Boxing Day fixture with Halesowen Town.
There are plenty of prizes on offer, and fuller details are available by following the link below:
Youth
Our Under 18s boys team defeated Allscott 3-0 in the Shropshire Premier Cup on Tuesday evening (10th December), advancing to the competition semi-finals.
Congratulations, lads, and why stop there? Best of luck in the next round.
Foundation
It’s hard to avoid the fact that Christmas is close, but at a time of year when giving is as important as receiving, some people’s circumstances mean that their Christmas is short on seasonal cheer.
Now running for a fifth year, the AFC Telford United Foundation’s ‘Christmas Kindness’ appeal shows those less fortunate that they are in the thoughts of others. Organised by Foundation director Ian Preece, the appeal accepts donations of children’s toys and food, which will be distributed to those most in need.
Ian has been featured on the BBC Shropshire website, and you can read more about the appeal and how to donate by following the link below:

Milestones
Ain’t That Grand?
AFC Telford United is almost into four figures! Our fixture at Stourbridge FC on 21st December should be our one-thousandth competitive fixture since our reformation in 2004, provided we avoid postponements.
Happy Birthday, Mo!
Of course, the chief reason we are aware of events like our one-thousandth game is one man – our club statistician and historian, Maurice Barker.
Maurice reaches a milestone on the date of this bulletin, 11th December, when he will be celebrating his 70th birthday.
We hope you will join us and wish Mo all the best in recognising his painstaking work in documenting our club’s history.
Thank you, Mo, and happy birthday to everyone at the club.
From the Dressing Room
Fund-Razor
Brandon Hall’s moustache is no more! Our no.1 has completed Movember and raised close to £600 for charity by growing something to keep his top lip warm – well done to Brandon, and thank you to all who sponsored his efforts, or does not shaving count as a lack of effort? Whichever, we think Brandon’s been a Movember hero.
