Alongside many positive outcomes in Kevin Wilkin’s squad-building, we regret to confirm that Sam Whittall will not be returning to the Bucks for the 2025/26 season.
Sam (pictured holding the playoff final trophy aloft with Jimmy Armson) has been in discussion with Kevin, who was keen to retain him for our return to the National League North. However, Sam has also been speaking to Rushall Olympic, and after consideration, has opted to return to Dales Lane to rejoin the Pics.
‘Whitts’ joined us from Rushall in October 2023 and has retained links to the Pics. Kevin expressed his view that Sam is capable of performing at Step 2 and was hopeful that Sam would return to the Bucks. Naturally, there is some disappointment that we will be going our separate ways.
Nonetheless, we understand that there are many considerations for players at a semi-professional level, not solely football, and respect Sam’s decision.
We also wish to thank him for his contribution to the Bucks since joining us. As with other players from our 2024/25 squad, Sam leaves as a promotion winner, and with our gratitude for helping to bring our club back to Step 2.
