"Curtain Comes Down On Bucks Women League Campaign"

Sunday sees the final game of the West Midland Regional League for AFC Telford Women as they travel to Pershall Park to face Eccleshall. It was been a difficult end to the season for the Bucks who head into the game following back to back defeats against Lichfield and Hednesford respectively. They will be looking to get a final win on the board to have a chance of remaining second in league as other sides namely Walsall play catch up.

Ultimately it was the number of draws that has cost the side a shot at the league title but they will also have one eye on the Tom Farmer Shropshire Women’s County Cup against Shifnal Town a week on Friday.

Eccleshall head into the game off the back of 5 successive defeats in all competitions and have failed to win since the two sides last met. On that day goals from Jem Smith, Sasha Woodhouse and Abby White saw the Bucks home. For Eccleshall it has been a mixed debut season in the West Midlands Regional League as they look set to finish in 7th.
