AFC Telford Utd FORZA!
So what is Forza? Well, it's actually easier to start by telling you what we're not.
We're not a committee or a board. You don't have to be nominated, elected, attend loads of meetings or take minutes. We leave that to the Trust Board and Club Board who run the club.
We're not a fund-raising group. If we make some money as part of what we do, great! But it's not one of the reasons we exist.
We're not a supporters club. Yes, we do spend a bit of our time discussing last week's game – quite often in the pub - but that's part and parcel of being a fan.
So what do we do?
We are the organisation charged with providing a link between the fans and the club – designed specifically for people who want to have a say in how the club runs, without having to commit to a formal role on one of the boards.
We aim to bring the club that we love to a wider audience in the Telford & Wrekin area, grow the attendance and trust membership, arrange events and get the fans more actively involved in what happens at AFC Telford Utd.
We design and implement new initiatives to make the AFC Telford Utd experience better. For example, the Carers Champion scheme which looks after less able supporters and their helpers started as an idea at a Forza get-together.
We're involved in the on-going efforts to grow the membership of the Trust and the standing order scheme, we've co-ordinated the volunteer efforts at the recent England games, and we run the 50/50 quiz which raised over £1000 for the Trust and nearly £2000 for the Georgia Williams Trust in 2013. Our biggest event every year is the Open Day, which brings the community, the club and it's supporters together for one big, busy (and hopefully hot and sunny) event every year.
We don't ask for any commitment, just a passion for the club, a desire to see it grow, and a willingness to chuck some ideas into the pot.
