Bucks take on the Red Rebels in FA Cup clash

AFC Telford United vs FC United of Manchester

The Emirates FA Cup - Fourth Round Qualifying

Saturday 14th October 2017, 3pm kick off

The cup games just keep coming for the Bucks, as this Saturday sees FC United of Manchester come to town for an FA Cup Fourth Round Qualifying Tie.

Telford have never lost to FC United and last season chalked up a pair of clean sheets on route to taking four points from the Red Rebels. A goalless draw in Manchester was followed up by a narrow 1-0 home win for the Bucks last October.

Last season Reds boss Karl Marginson - who has managed the fan-owned club since its formation in 2005 - guided his team to a comfortable mid-table finish in 15th position.

FC United have struggled so far in the league this term though, and they currently occupy the last of the relegation spots. From their 13 league matches, the Red Rebels have picked up a total of 13 points, five of which have come away - a win at York City and draws against Southport and North Ferriby United.

But the Reds have had more success in the FA Cup and are now unbeaten in their last six games across all competition - four of which have been in the cup as both of their ties so far have gone to replays. After drawing 1-1 at Handsworth Parramore, FC United won the reverse in Manchester 6-2. But if that seemed spectacular, their tie with Stockport County in the next round served up a fabulous slice of cup football.

The first game saw FC United trail their neighbours 3-0 at half-time, only for the Reds to haul themselves level with a stirring second half showing. And although the Reds had another seemingly disastrous first half in the replay - when after 45 minutes they were reduced to nine men - Tom Greaves' goal just after the break and some determined defending was enough to see FC United through.

The Bucks also faced a replay in the previous round, eventually overcoming Stafford Rangers 4-1 at the New Bucks Head.

A place in the first round and a potential tie with league opposition await the winner of this weekend's match. And Rob Edwards and his side will be doing everything in their power to ensure it is the Bucks who go into the hat.
