Bucks look to show their teeth against the Nash
AFC Telford United vs Curzon Ashton
Vanarama National League North
Saturday 6th January 2018, 3pm kick off
Curzon Ashton come to the New Bucks Head this weekend, as Rob Edwards’ men go in search of a first win of 2018.
The Bucks and the Nash have had similar seasons so far and are separated in the standings by just three points. Earlier in the campaign Curzon squeaked an even game against the Bucks 1-0. Rob Edwards’ men will be looking to come out on top this time around then, and a win would lift Telford above the Nash in the table.
Max Leonard has swapped Tameside for Telford since the sides met back in August, while Curzon’s squad includes former Buck Ryan Brooke. But it’s Niall Cummins who is once again Curzon’s main threat up top. The big forward has eleven goals so far this season, including the winner against the Bucks. Joe Guest is another man to watch in the Nash’s attack.
John Flanagan’s men have recorded just one victory in their last nine outings – a 1-0 win over beleaguered North Ferriby United. And Curzon have never won at the New Bucks Head either. Telford triumphed 3-1 in the corresponding fixture last season – the only game in the whole of the previous campaign in which the Bucks scored more than two goals – and the Bucks faithful will want another three points this time around too.
