Report:
Bucks fans have found a new hero in Daniel Udoh, and it was his second-half double that kept his side unbeaten and maintained a 100% home record over a well-organised Ashton.

Gavin Cowan’s side had found themselves a goal down after a first half of few chances. The closest the Bucks went was an Andre Brown header over the bar, however on 38 minutes John McAtee, a former Telford loan signing, put the visitors ahead, when he latched onto Liam Tomsett’s pass to round Max Bramley and roll the ball home.

Ashton suffered a double blow just after the hour that shifted the momentum Telford’s way. First, Udoh scored a fortuitous equaliser; Matt Regan’s attempt to clear struck the Bucks forward’s outstretched foot and cannoned past keeper Luke Pilling’s left-hand from 18 yards. Ashton manager Jody Banim made a double substitution, using all his changes, and seconds later Aaron Chalmers had to leave the field too, caught by an unintentional stray arm from Andre Brown.

Down to ten men, Ashton sat deep but the added creativity of Bucks substitute Adam Dawson started to stretch them. On 85 minutes, midfielder Henry Cowans showed sublime skill to cut the ball back from the left touchline and Udoh smashed in across Pilling from close range to seal the win, and break Ashton’s hearts.

Ashton: Pilling, Jacobs (Sephton 45), Hill, Chalmers, Regan, Lees (c), Jackson, Tomsett, Hobson (Evangelinos 64), McAtee (Platt 64), Bakare.

Unused subs: McHale, Anghel.

Booked: None.
