Bucks look to get the jump on Harriers in Tuesday night clash

Kidderminster Harriers vs AFC Telford United

National League North

Tuesday 7th August 2018, 7.45pm kick off

Gavin Cowan takes his men to Aggborough this Tuesday, as the Bucks kick off this season's away campaign at Kidderminster.

While the Bucks were busy beating Southport on Saturday, Kiddie kicked off their campaign with a 3-3 draw at Alfreton; in an entertaining but not quite perfect start to Harriers' expected push for promotion.

Kiddie finished 4th last term but failed to make the playoff final for the second season running, after Bradford Park Avenue upset the odds and advanced thanks to a win 2-0 at Aggborough.

Boss John Eustace left the Harriers hot seat no long after that loss, choosing to take up the assistant manager role under Steve McClaren at Queen’s Park Rangers instead. Former Falkirk, Coventry and Fleetwood number two, Neil MacFarlane, has since taken the reins at the Worcestershire club.

And the new Kiddie boss was quick to signal his intent for the season ahead, snapping up Nuneaton Town’s 25-goal top scorer, Ashley Chambers, on a free transfer. Chambers joins Kiddie’s 23-goal Joe Ironside in what appears to be a dangerous attacking partnership.

Harriers have, however, lost last season’s influential skipper, Ryan Croasdale, who joined AFC Fylde for £50,000. Meanwhile, the Bucks were quick to secure the signatures of former Kiddie men Andre Brown and James McQuilkin  this summer, and the pair both looked sharp in preseason.

Brown was actually on the scoresheet for Harriers in their 2-0 win over the Bucks at Aggborough on New Year's Day. Telford chief, Gavin Cowan, wouldn’t mind if the front man can find the Aggborough net once more though, as the Bucks go in search of the points this Tuesday.
